Why do I feel like I have mucus stuck in my throat all the time?
Postnasal drip is a condition in which mucus builds up or trickles down the back of the throat. Infections, allergies, and acid reflux are all possible causes. A sore throat may be another symptom of a postnasal drip.
Why won't the mucus in my throat go away?
Postnasal drip makes you feel as though you must clear your throat all the time. It can also induce a cough, which typically gets worse at night. In reality, postnasal drip is one of the most prevalent causes of a cough that won't go away. Overproduction of mucus might make you feel hoarse and cause a sore throat. Swallowing difficulties or a bitter taste in your mouth might occur as well.
Is it normal to have mucus in the throat for months?
Catarrh is a buildup of mucus in the airways or cavities of the body. It most often affects the back of the nose, throat, or sinuses (air-filled cavities in the bones of the face). It's typically short-term, but some individuals endure it for months or years. Chronic catarrh is usually caused by an infection, but allergies, irritants, and autoimmune disorders may also play a role.
What Foods Can Increase Mucus?
Artificial sweeteners, sodium, and thickening chemicals are all common in processed foods, all of which can stimulate mucus production. Dairy products, such as milk, yogurt, or ice cream, may also contribute to this problem.
